Goals and ObjectivesThe House hopes to achieve ten primary goals in the near and long-term:- In the midst of violence, drugs, abuse, and other ills, provide a safe and strong community for youth in Southeast Washington, D.C.
- Mobilize volunteers that together represent a "village" for youth in Southeast D.C. and share the love of Jesus as mentors, tutors, role models, and father figures.
- Set positive examples and help youth to effectively deal the many challenges they face.
- Create an educational support system that connects youth with the resources needed to improve skills and affords them better employment and educational opportunities for the future.
- Provide spiritual guidance, giving youth direction for an alternative lifestyle of hope and freedom.
- Build spiritual families among peers of youth as an alternative to the growing epidemic of gangs and violence.
- Expose youth to a world outside of their four-block neighborhood so they can envision bright futures and establish goals that empower them to compete in this world.
- Gain the support of caregivers, complement their life skills, and be available for assistance in emergency situations.
- Participate in the community by cleaning up the neighborhood so residents can be proud of the area in which they live.
- Provide a model ministry that can be developed in other parts of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and throughout the United States.
